What Are Your Robux Worth? Three Numbers, Not One
Ask what a Robux is worth and the honest answer is a question back: worth to whom, in which direction?
Buying one costs about a cent. Selling something for one leaves you with seventy per cent of it. Converting one to cash as a creator returns about a third of a cent. All three are true simultaneously, and the distance between the first and the last is the most informative number on this site.

Our calculator prints all three for any amount you type, in your own currency. The gap is the point: buying costs roughly three times what cashing out returns.
Why the spread exists, and what it proves#
Roblox sells Robux at retail and buys them back from creators at a lower rate, and the difference is its margin on the currency. That is a normal platform business model, published openly, and it has one consequence worth stating in full.
- Nobody can give Robux away, because they had to be bought at the higher price first.
- Nobody can profitably buy Robux to resell, because the resale value is a third of the purchase price.
- A site claiming to hand out thousands of Robux would be burning real money at the retail rate.
- Therefore it is not handing out Robux. It is collecting something else: credentials, survey revenue or an install.
This is the whole argument against every generator, and it is arithmetic rather than opinion. It does not depend on trusting anyone, including us.
Working out what something costs you#
- Note the price of the item or pass in Robux.
- Find the cheapest combination of packs that covers it — larger packs are better value, and Robux are not sold individually.
- Add the difference: buying 1,700 for an 800 item means the real cost is the pack, not the item.
- Compare that money to what you would spend on it elsewhere; the Robux figure hides the currency.
That third step is where in-platform pricing does its work. An item priced just above a pack boundary quietly costs a whole extra pack.
Working out what you earn as a creator#
On the selling side the arithmetic runs the other way and there are two deductions, not one. The marketplace fee comes off the sale, and then the DevEx rate applies when you convert.

That final line is worth internalising before planning a business around it. The buyer spent roughly a dollar of retail value; the creator ends up with about a quarter of it in cash.
What the calculator does not do#
- It does not know today’s price in your store — pack prices change and taxes differ by region.
- It does not account for platform-specific pricing on consoles or in mobile apps.
- It does not include the fees a creator pays to upload or list an item.

How much is 10,000 Robux worth?
Three different answers. It costs about $99.99 to buy at the best pack rate. If you sold items for 10,000 Robux you would keep 7,000 after the 30 per cent marketplace fee. And converting 10,000 Robux through the Developer Exchange as an eligible creator returns roughly $35. The distance between the first and third figures — about $100 in, about $35 out — is Roblox’s margin on the currency, and it is the reason free Robux cannot exist.
How do I calculate what an item really costs me?
Work from the pack, not from the item price. Robux are sold in fixed packs, so an item priced at 850 Robux requires a 1,700 pack unless you already have a balance, which means the real cost is the pack price rather than a proportional share of it. Our calculator finds the cheapest combination of packs for any amount and shows the total in your currency, which is usually higher than people expect.
What percentage of a sale does a creator keep?
Seventy per cent of the Robux, and then the Developer Exchange rate applies when converting to cash. On a 100 Robux sale the creator receives 70 Robux, worth roughly 25 cents through DevEx — against a buyer who paid around a dollar of retail value for those 100 Robux. So the creator’s effective share of what the buyer spent is about a quarter. That is worth understanding before planning any business around it.
